To my Grandfather who passed yesterday.
I wish I knew you better than I did.
I wish I saw you more.
A man who cared about his children and grandchildren until the very end.
Strong, standing tall he carved his own path through life and created many paths for his children which left me in the life I live today, a privileged, happy life and I wish I had expressed my gratitude for that more.
The last conversation I had with you you you told me:
"I love you Matthew I know I was a terrible grandfather and was never there to see you, but i never was. For that I am truly sorry, however I am glad to see you grow into the man you are today and I wish the very best for you in your coming years"
Through these few words you told me in your husked voice ravaged by the numerous cancers which plagued your body I truly understand now how much you loved your family.
Rest in peace Grandfather Harvey, you will forever remain in my heart.
